Welcome to The French Rooms in the heart of the Bushmills, home to the world’s oldest licensed distillery and the Gateway to the Giant’s Causeway – a World Heritage site. Our vision is for a warm, welcoming and informal setting, a place to meet up with friends, drop in for cup of great coffee or savour the flavours of our elegantly prepared dishes from our morning, lunch and dinner (on 3 evenings) menus.
There’s lots to explore, firstly the shop with its eclectic range of French inspired gifts, a gourmet grocer counter, fresh breads and house made scones freshly baked each morning. The Cafe with its zinc topped tables and bar counter features hide away ‘snugs’ while the “Moulin Rouge” is ideal for a semi private party for up to 10 persons. On cold winter days search out the Garden Room with its stone surround open fire - a perfect spot for relaxing with a newspaper and a snack – and on hot summer days the doors open out to the terrace, a sun trap from early afternoon. Take the elegant staircase to the ‘shabby chic’ Huguenot Room with its time aged French furnishings perfect for private meetings (maximum 12) or very special parties.
The Visitor Information Centre is directly opposite the French Rooms and there’s an excellent public car park very close by, about 100 yards. The car park is also the Park & Ride to the Giant’s Causeway and here’s a tip - a little known fact but if visiting the Giant’s Causeway it’s cheaper to use the Park & Ride (operates March to October) than trying to park at the Causeway.
We hope you can pick up a flavour of the French Rooms from our web site and that we will have the pleasure of welcoming you to ‘the French Room’ some day soon.
